Dr Geoff Raby AO Chair

Dr Geoff Raby AO is a former Australian Ambassador to China and one of the country’s leading experts in international diplomacy and cultural relations.

He served as Ambassador from 2007 to 2011 and has since remained an influential commentator and advisor on Australia–China affairs. Dr Raby was Chair of VisAsia at the Art Gallery of New South Wales and a passionate supporter of the arts. He donated a significant collection of Chinese contemporary art to La Trobe University, which toured to National Art School in 2024 and the Bendigo Gallery in 2023 and continues to advocate for cross-cultural understanding through the visual arts. 

He has recently published Great Game On: the contest for Central Asia and Global Supremacy (2024) and China’s Grand Strategy and Australia’s future in the new world order (2025 2nd edn.), both by Melbourne University Press.

Stephen Fitzpatrick Director

Stephen Fitzpatrick, formerly a General Manager at TWT Property Group, was a key figure in both the company's property development operations and their in-house philanthropic arm, Bridging Hope Charity Foundation. In his business capacity, he was involved in significant residential and commercial projects such as New Life/Ultimo and NewLife Bondi Junction, providing insights into design, market trends, and community engagement. Beyond his development work, Fitzpatrick was a strong advocate for Bridging Hope's mission, consistently highlighting its commitment to mental health and arts initiatives. He was instrumental in promoting the foundation's innovative approaches to culturally relevant mental health programs and its dedication to fostering healthy, art-integrated communities.

Ariel Zhang
Secretary

Ariel Zhang is the Head of Arts Initiatives at TWT Property Group and Bridging Hope Charity Foundation, where she is instrumental in incorporating art into current operation and future development, fostering cultural exchange, particularly between China and Australia.

She is member of Advisory Management Committee of Institute for Australian and Asian Arts and Culture in Western Sydney University. She manages corporate and foundation art initiatives that support the art ecosystem, including public art projects and artist residencies.
